What does a music publisher do and do you need one? Moderated by singer-songwriter Akosia Sabet, speakers from the Concord Music Publishing team will be in the house to break down all things music publishing for songwriters. You'll hear about A&R, Sync Licensing and Copyright & Royalties. There will also be an emerging artist performance and time to mingle with some of the BMAA and Concord crew and other industry people.

Moderator: AKOSIA is a force to be reckoned with, a multifaceted artist who loves art and is not afraid to be herself. She defies genres with her raw mix of pop, jazz, soul, dance, and R&B. She defies labels as a singer-songwriter, actor, model, poet, storyteller, and master of emotions. And she defies the odds, carving her own path as a Black woman in the Australian music industry.
Speaker: Hazel Gordon is the A&R Manager at Concord Music Publishing, based in Naarm/ Melbourne, Australia. In her role, Hazel signs, develops, and champions songwriters, passionately seeking opportunities to expand their writing catalogue and reach their potential as creatives. Hazel collaborates with managers, labels, other publishers, and artists domestically and internationally to source opportunities for signed writers. She is actively setting up writing sessions, planning overseas writing trips, pitching clients’ songs, instrumentals, and top lines for placement with artist projects, attending gigs, listening to music and staying connected to Australia’s emerging pool of song writing and production talent.
Speaker: Sabrina Robertson is the Sync Manager at Concord Music Publishing ANZ and works closely with the Sync Licensing and A&R departments. Outside of her role at Concord ANZ, Sabrina runs music management and publicity company Maths & Magic, and currently manages Alexander Biggs and Tim Hart.
Speaker: Nikki Rastas is the Copyright & Royalties Manager at Concord Music Publishing ANZ. Nikki manages a team in the Australian office, whose key responsibilities include registering works and processing the royalties collected for the writers and catalogues that Concord ANZ represents.
