MEET THE TEAM

We are member-based and managed by an all-Black committee of visionaries and changemakers dedicated to improving the Black experience in music.

  • PRESIDENT - NSW

  • Kween G (Kibone) is a dynamic cultural leader, hip hop artist, voice-over artist, MC, broadcaster, and curator, a bold and essential voice in Australian music and performance. With roots in community and culture, she has forged a powerful creative legacy as a performer, mentor, and advocate for empowerment through art.

    A founding member of the pioneering hip hop duo KillaQueenz, Kween G first made her mark as a fearless lyricist whose commanding flow and conscious storytelling broke new ground in Australian hip hop. Today, she continues to evolve as a solo artist and cultural force, using her platform to champion diversity, artistic excellence, and social change.

    Kween G is an authentic, fearless, and visionary leader whose governance and advocacy work strengthens arts and multicultural communities across Australia.

    ● Creative Lead (Vision & Programming), The Red Rattler Theatre – Steering artistic direction and curatorial programming for one of Sydney’s leading independent arts venues, dedicated to social justice, intersectionality, and creative freedom.

    ● Chair, Addison Road Community Organisation (Addi Road) – Leading strategic direction for a major multicultural community centre advancing arts, culture, environment, and social justice.

    ● Advisory Panel Member, Australian Women in Music Awards (AWMA) –Shaping policy, programming, and recognition for women in music.

  • VICE PRESIDENT - NSW

  • Dannielle is a seasoned music industry professional with over 30 years of experience spanning various sectors, including music publishing, record label services and music rights management. Her expertise encompasses music copyright, music rights, copyright data analysis, event and project planning and high level administration experience developed through her work with notable companies such as Warner Chappell Music, Warner Music Australia (publicity & promotions) and APRA AMCOS (Project Administrator & Publisher Membership). Dannielle currently works in copyright for Australian independent music publisher, theatrical and record label, ORiGiN Music. 

    Dannielle has served on the Sony Music Advisory Committee and currently holds position of President and Co-founder of the Black Music Alliance Australia. 

    A passionate advocate for equity, cultural diversity and inclusion in the music industry, Dannielle leverages her extensive experience and connections to deliver events and programs that pass on industry knowledge and foster collaboration among Black creators to enhance their participation in the music economy. She has played a pivotal role in forging strong local industry partnerships, such as with BMAA funding partner, Music Victoria, and ARIA, having a seat on the Hip Hop and R&B Advisory Committee. Key global alliances have also been established with organisations such as the Black Music Action Coalition (US), Black Music Coalition (UK), Black Lives in Music (UK), and Black Music Export Office (UK) to facilitate African diaspora connectivity and collaboration.

    Dannielle recognises the ongoing work needed to advance equity and inclusion in the industry and is optimistic that industry leaders will work alongside BMAA to help transform the Australian music ecosystem into a fair and vibrant space for all.

  • SECRETARY- NSW

  • Gill Dunn has worked with one of the world’s leading music rights organisations APRA AMCOS, for almost 20 years, and after working closely with music publisher members for most of that time, has an in-depth knowledge of music copyright and royalties. Having recently stepped into the role of APRA AMCOS Senior Manager, Culture and Engagement, Gill will champion representation, safety and inclusion as key pillars of their organisational culture. She’s also a mum of two daughters, lover of music, nature and mountain biking.

  • COMMITTEE MEMBER - NSW

  • Thandiwe Gudu, known as Ms. Thandi on stage, is a Sydney/Gadigal based alt-R&B artist with roots in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Having developed her career as an independent artist for the past 5+ years with highlights such as music placement on Netflix's 'Heartbreak High' and performing for Vivid, Thandi is passionate about further contributing to the Australian music landscape by championing Black music and artists. Alongside her music career, Thandi holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of New South Wales, and works in the homelessness sector, with a background spanning community engagement and development, and youth work. Thandi is committed to people, community and advocating for true diversity and equal opportunity in the arts.

  • COMMITTEE MEMBER - VIC

  • N’fa Forster-Jones (MM) is a Sierra-Leone/Australian music artist, rapper, songwriter,

    producer, mentor and teacher credited for having cemented the early Australian Hip Hop

    movement with his ARIA award winning band 1200 Techniques.

    N'fa has released several acclaimed albums, collaborating, and performing around the world,

    while continuously trying to push the artistic scope of independent music as is shown with his

    most recent project - the Afro Beat & Hip Hop cultural infusion - Cool Out Sun.

    N'fa is currently writing a new Cool Out Sun record with his collaborative partner Sensible J,

    and continues to deliver a Diploma of music based on Hip Hop practices at Box Hill Institute

    - a syllabus he co-wrote and established in 2018.

    N’fa continues to celebrate his culture, his art form and his dynamic approach to music and

    education through music, performance, and theater as he calmly pushes territories of creative

    discipline, opportunity, and POC presence into new realms of multidisciplinary performance,

    working to help foster the development of future creatives.

C.J. Ndhlovu
  • TREASURER - NSW

  • Born in Zimbabwe, raised in the UK, and now residing in Australia, C.J. is an experienced Chartered Accountant at Congdon Fuzi. He has 12 years of experience helping individuals, businesses and a variety of organizations including Not-for-Profit with tax, accounting and business advice across a broad range of industries.

  • Vuli is a Zimbabwean Australian producer, saxophonist, Audio engineer and community worker with over a decade of experience in the music scene and community advocacy. A member of True Vibenation, Vuli has toured the world (Europe, Africa and Asia) multiple times and has always put Black music and culture front and centre in his art. In his work with BMAA Vuli’s aim is to open doors and break down barriers that he and many black musicians and peers have faced before him.
